This first gen Campy Gran Sport is now bid up to > $2100.

Intuitively, this pleases me, in the hope that anyone who will pay that much will assure that it is preserved for the future. Somewhere. And, that is good.

Of course, there are lots of urban legends about hyper-valuable Tulip bulbs being sliced and cookdd as onions during the famous 17th century (?) Dutch tulip "bubble." After collectors die, I'm sure that a lot of great stuff just gets tossed by survivors who don't know what to do. That's one reason it was cool that Joe B-Z organized some list members to help get value for Chris Beyer's stuff.

I am, needless to say, stunned..and the auction's not over yet. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Charles- I am not familiar enough with this derailleur to comment on it, much less buy it. However. looking at it made me wonder when/what was the First Parralellogram derailleur offered?
