I hate to let this one go, but something's gotta give... and it really is too tall for moi. It'll be just right for someone here though.

Masi Special frame and fork. 57.75 cm c-t seat-tube. 56cm c-c top tube. BB shell is NOT marked with a size, so I'm assuming it was a custom job. Early-to-mid-60s. Restored as original by Brian Baylis.

Campagnolo BB bearing included. Seat-clamp bolt included. No drop-out adjustors and NO HEADSET.

Cinelli pressed lugs. Color is deep blue with smoked black-to-white seat-tube panel. Chromed fork-ends and crown. All graphics are completely authentic-looking reproductions. The metal headbadge is a reproduction in the style of the last of the Special headbadges. It looks exactly like an original, and you'd never know it wasn't if I didn't mention it.

I'm looking at this frame right now, and it looks so good I'm tempted yet again to keep it. It is as elegant as can be. But, it will go, to the right home.

This frame has the rare-ish 74mm bb shell. Brian re-brazed the spacers on the bb, after someone removed them to fit a 70mm bb. The bb in this frame is correct, spindle is for a 74mm bb shell. You hardly ever see these.

Condition is one step away from brand-spanking new. I built this frame up with period-correct parts and rode it probably a couple hundred miles tops. So there are a few tiny mars (not chips or dents, just tiny mars that can be polished out, I'd guess) where brake cables and cable stops were clamped, but that's it.

Brian's paint-job is fantastic. Very thin, and very hard. Bullet-proof.

Lug-work, filing, and brazing on this Special are distinctly better than on any others I've seen. Quality on these varied quite a bit. Lugs are very crisp, and all shore-lines are completely symmetrical. Lug radii are perfect throughout. Filing on the bb shell is especially nice.

In short, this is a one-of-a-kind piece. $1800 shipped.

I have many pictures as a built-up bike. Serious inquiries will get pics.

Thanks.
