Subject: [CR]EDCO headsets and other components

Just thought I'd offer some pix of EDCO Competition headsets for those that are unfamiliar, and try to gain a little more info.

This is an earlier generation, which is much more desirable (in my opinion). I've seen these in gold, red, silver and black. Does anyone know if there were other colors?:

This is a later version. Still a really nice piece, but not as classic looking. I've only seen these in silver and black:

There were other EDCO Competition components, including crankset, f/r derailleurs and hubs, but I believe these were a later attempt at a group, probably with the later headset above. And, of course, EDCO still makes contemporary headsets, BBs and hubs. http://www.edco.ch/bicycle/ Can anyone set the time frame for the two headsets pictured above, and for the Competition "group"? Were there other components included in the "group"? Wayne Bingham -- Lovettsville VA
