Wonderful to see this excellent maker get a mention on the list. He hailed form somewhere in the West country. Perhaps Somerset? I can remember Christine Oliver the wife of the equally good builder Tony Oliver racing one. Just like her husband she was no slouch when it came to racing and did some real quick times when she was in the Clevedon. This club was also blessed with Janet Tebbitt for a time the Land's end to John o' Groats woman's record holder. When we raced in the Bristol area in the early 70' Stan Pike and Jensens where all the rage with the locals. Not quite sure why Jensen a maker from Croydon in Surrey should be popular down there but they were another excellent maker from the UK. It is a crying shame that these Brit builders do not get the recognition on the list they deserve. You all seem to be preoccupied with the Italian and other foreign makers and pay exorbitant and crazy prices for their wares. I have just sold a real British thoroughbred to a list member very cheaply. It was a Bill Philbrook and hopefully should be turning up at some of your rallies in the USA. Hopefully this exposure will some start interest to the brilliant UK makers that you are ignoring at present. At least Stan Pike is now making a well deserved showing.
