Jerry,

Although I'm an OLMO fan, I admit to not being very knowledgeable about their bikes prior to the 70's. This bike, although advertised as 1970's, is very likely from the early to mid 60's. I say this as she has Campagnolo 151 bcd cranks and the early Campagnolo Record front derailleur with the built in cable stop (early version of this without the cable slot). The brakes are Universal 61's (appeared in 1961). Given that the bike has all top end components I would date this prior to 1968 when Universal 68's came out and I think Campagnolo sidepull's too - otherwise these would probably be on the her. The rear derailleur, in my opinion, is a later swap. Given my opinion of a 1960's bike, I'd say the weight is typical of other top tier bikes of the period.

If she were my size, I'd be bidding.

She definitely "does it for me."

Just saw this very nice Olmo deluxe http://ebay.com/<blah>

Does anyone here have any experience with Olmo's of this vintage? Were such Olmo's considered right up there, if not with the very finest tier bikes, with the better Italians of the time, like Frejus, Legnano? Of note is that the seller has the weight of this bike at 25lbs, which seems rather heavy compared with other top racing models of that time, such as Frejus or Cinelli? Does this have more to do with the parts or were Olmo Deluxe frames a lot heavier? Thanks,
