Ooops, you are absolutely correct, I did not understand what prompted your response. I agree with your points! Thanks Dale

And it was *this* kind of thing the prompted my initial--mostly facetious--post. All opinions are *not* created equal and it bugs me no end that most human beings somehow think that because they simply *have* an opinion, by some magical osmosis, that qualifies said opinion to be ranked as equal to anyone else's. This is demonstrably useless.

To paraphrase the immortal Barry Goldwater, "Elitism in the defense of true beauty is no vice."

Hard as it may be to accept, some opinions are more valuable than others. And some opinions do count for less. Or should. One can find examples of why this is true--or should be--all around us.

Which was why I proposed a metric that would take into account the relative VALUE of a given opinion.

In a practical way, this means that if you think a UO8 is the most beautiful bike ever made, you're perfectly entitled to your opinion. Just don't ask me to take it, or you, seriously.

This applies to most other things in life as well. After all, the quality of our judgements usually determines the quality of our lives..
