Hey Swingers,

Seeing some Aussie frames have been mentioned here of late and reading of the term "flamboyant" to describe a style of paint I thought I'd offer a peak of a later Malvern Star (ca. mid 70's) which I think some of you may appreciate seeing. These were a limited edition but still carried plenty of style but of a different hue/flava to the earlier 5 Star frames. Pics aren't the best & the link is to the classic section of Road Bike Review forums.

Same thread has some pics of a Royal Star track frame by Ron Bates of Hurstville, Sydney and some NOS Carlton Raleighs too.

I just love the word Flamboyant - my mind chuckles to think what would happen were some long forgotten relative to leave me an inheritance with instruction to spend it wisely ...... I could foresee myself calling Richard Sachs and placing an order for one of his fine frames "but with a flamboyant finish". I wonder if Richie would do the work in heels, a short skirt, make-up and a wig instead of original Jordans (black w/ red swoosh and white sole ???) before sending the frame to Joe Bell for paint. That would be some frame to talk about ..... would there be an upcharge for the additional attire? I haven't even mentioned ABBA ;)
