mark-issimo this is from the archives, ca. 2002. my point is that the stuff is available, albeit from suppliers and collectors that had more foresight to keep these older parts around for future consumers. it's not campagnolo's problem to solve. here:

does anyone want to venture a guess as to the market for this stuff? if the CR list has 600+ subscribers, i still think it's the same 40-50 listees that do all the posting. from these numbers, i still question how many people really want these items, how many really need these items, and how many would pay for these items. what next? a picket line at the old simplex factory? a lobbyist to work within the italian trade commission? you tell me! if the fork on your old gillott breaks, and the only 531 blades available for the repair are drawn to a different shape, do you pester reynolds to re-manufacture to their 60s specs? lotta issues here... e-RICHIE chester, ct _______________________________

That is the price asked for gum brake lever hoods that fit older Campagnolo brake levers, from the Nouvo and Super Record eras. Some has a current bid on ebay for for a pair of these. I am suggesting Campagnolo consider producing this one item for enthusiasts world-wide to use on their vintage machines. Riding older Campy equiped cycle is a tribute to the quality and longevity of your products. If these could be offered at a "reasonable" price, I know the entire cycling community would be greatful. and I believe it would not be unprofitable to you company.
