One point which I have not seen made yet is that most of the automobile manufacturers that have established "heritage" programs have only done so after NOS supplies had largely been exhausted, then the hobbyist/consumer went through a period of total unavailability through all standard channels before the company began to get involved in various ways to insure support for their brand and a paying consumer. There currently exists a very plentiful supply of genuine, NOS, still soft and pliable original Campagnolo gums hoods. The price, in my opinion is very, very reasonable. What incentive is there, really, for Campagnolo do anything right now? My career has been spent in manufacturing and logistics operations and I cannot fathom, based on real world experience, that Campagnolo would have any desire to provide hoods at a price more competitive then currently available via eBay and numerous other sources. And let's face it, if they are not priced lower then available elsewhere, none of us are going to purchase a single set.

It is naive to think that there is anything of real value in this for Campagnolo............ at this point in time. When NOS supplies are exhausted and prices go up - which they will - is only when Campagnolo will give this any consideration at all.

My two cents,
