Yes, of course. There were/are many subcontractors for Campy (& Shimano for that matter). I've been in Casaraghi many times to see them winding Campy cables along side the Vespa cables. But the same holds true for any manufacturer regarding 20 year old tooling. They just ain't gonna keep it around unless they have a scrap yard.

If folks in this group are serous about making hoods, an appropriate mold would cost roughly $2500-$3500 and the cost of the hoods themselves pretty affordable. Resin by weight plus overhead and profit for the maker. Throw in a little freight and duty and it wouldn't be much. Used to buy grips for ATBs in large qtys for cheap back in the day. Even in pinche (look it up cholo) qtys you ought to be able to land them for under $5/pair, freight, duty and all. Someone like Pacenti could do the CAD work and then toss it to a grip maker in Taiwan. Next thing you know, you are swimming in 'CR' grips. If someone is really serious about this and has the money and time to proceed, I can hook you up with a source.
