Actually, I have noticed among a certain contingent of vintage bicyclists that what they like the most to to go to a vintage bicycling get-together. Bring some exotic part or "World Logo Hoods" - installed on a rider - or something else that's rare but well known to others. Bask in the reflection of envy from the other attendees.
Claim that you have a "secret source".
