Hey Swingers,

Wondering if anyone has a copy of this film they wouldn't mind loaning out for a short while? I'll pay postage to and fro

or

I'm not sure if such film is rare (reads expensive) but if not, does anyone have a copy for sale?

It's for Jim Bundy who was a bike store owner and quite a good frame builder here in Sydney for many of us who couldn't afford the imported exotics. Now retired and in his late 70's, but he still spends at least 3-4 hours in his shed each day tinkering and doing odd repairs and rebuilds. "Keeps me ticker ticking" as he said to me. He made a frame for me back in 1983 and whilst it was what I consider a bread and butter price it certainly held it's own and got some heavy use considering I had only recently left the BMX tracks and trails. Recently reacquainted with him and if any downunder aspiring framebuilders are interested he is weighing up selling off his frame jig, brazing stand, tools etc .... as his son no longer has his bike store (but is still in the industry). Though about giving it a go myself but I've a habit of losing money on pursuits I'm passionate about. His son Peter was a good local track rider and coach and spent a bit of time in the states around the early 90's - maybe Trexlertown, he has a fair few photo's with Nothstein where the track looked familiar.

I spent a few afternoons recently with Jim in his shed chatting about "all the old stuff" - showed him lotsa pics and sites from list members. I don't know who gets a bigger kick - him revisiting what he loves or me listening to his stories. Whilst he was stoic in not mentioning the current lack of interest for tradition downunder on the whole, I could see he was truly gladdened that the superb talents of Messrs. Sachs, Baylis, Weigle et al was appreciated and flourishing stateside, he was truly surprised and impressed at the (local to us) work of Queenslander Dave mcCullouch (sp.?) who he had never heard of. Made some copies of old campy catalogues and some classic pics for him and I mentioned that I could ask the CR list for bits he or his old friends may need. he was pretty happy with his lot before stopping to mention that he had never seen the film 6 Day Rider and would be truly happy if he did.

So here I am asking for a favour for a good natured gentleman and friend.

thanks

ciao,
