When I saw the new improved reproduction of the Brooks Swallow for $400.00 I had an original on the shelf for $124.00 I thought there was more than embellishment going on.
After recently talking to Brooks I was informed that there actually lost money on all production of this model. I think I was told that a man could not reliably produce two in a day as I recall.
To their credit their intention was to make Swallows and aquire tremendous profits but reality crept in. Fortunately all stocks were sold I believe but it may be some time before they offer another such project to us.

The Brooks bag line have been test marketed and the feedback is mixed. They seem unsure as to how to proceed and may discontinue the project. Many proposed models may not see the light.
