Yes, the Brooks rivets have thick shafts (girth :)

When I have used smaller rivets (shallow cone-shape 1/2" dia. head with thin edge and smaller shaft), they have come with matching washers so that the hammered mushroom end doesn't have to fill up the hole in the frame.
