Hi Bob,

Its been a checkered year to be sure here, I'm pretty thankful for the friends and tolerant ones here on the list as well!

Anyone: ANY educated ideas where my MC61 01 falls in the Carlsbad timeline? I know its not literally "the first" because the initial serialization series is well-documented. Do you (or any others) have an idea?? 1973? 1974? not likely 1975 is it? Impossible to tell???

To elaborate on Charles' post:

Total Carlsbad production is something over 1600 frames. At this point, the highest Carlsbad serial number I am aware of is 0683. If anyone's got a higher one, I really would like to hear from you!

The first IC-lugged frame in my records is 0115, so we know that at least 568 IC-lugged Masis were produced at Carlsbad. As above, if anyone can help me narrow this number (i.e., if you have an pressed-lug OR IC-lugged bike near and below 0115), I'd love to hear from you.
