>>On my 1958 Hetchins I have a steerer tube dia. and stem dia.compatibility. The steerer tube inside dimension measures 21.9mm and a Cinelli 70's stem is a 22.2 mm. So what is avaivable that looks great. I could prehaps cut down the Cinelli to fit not dong the finish any good. Help I like to get the Hetchins together soon. I tried a search on CR Main but it doesn't work on my computer. Not a good idea to ream out steerer tube.<<

Why not try a French sized stem, which is 22.0 and might just fit with little or no sanding given production tolerances. Though Cinelli made stems with French sized quills isn't a 70's Italian stem a bit new looking for the Hetchins?
