on the tail end of this subject header i want to inject this thought: there are/were many folks that intepreted this thread completely differently since they receive the digest and read posts out of sync rather than in real time. despite the reasons for getting digests or not, i think it's a good idea to read all the posts before you reply. often a subject is resolved in an hour or three but the 9th and 10th replies are the ones that veer it off course and twist it into a completely different animal.
