Y thinking is that the spoke threading is a rare size, and is not commonly available at a hardware store. Also, I would like to know from anyone who has actually tried using a die to thread their own spokes. Do the spokes break any easier when the spoke threads are cut, rather than rolled? I read all about the process on the philwood.com website. They say its better, but what would most people when trying to justify getting someone to spend $3000+ for a spoke threader? I'm guessing that the spoke threads are not the 'weakest link' and if spokes are going to break, it will be at the bend, rather than at the 'cut' threads, when using my knowledge of physics principles to think about it. As someone said, "Share your knowledge, people!" :-)
