Subject: [CR]Claud Butler Avant Coureur and Lug lining

After yesterday's discussion of these two topics I thought I should upload some pics of my Claud Butler bilaminate that I finished earlier this year. Here they are: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/rdf1249/album?.dir=af56 I've been led to believe this one is from about 1948, so I tried to put period stuff on it but the sewup rims are a bit newer. Whaddaya think?

Notice the lug lining on it. This was done by my in-house painter with a Sakura Pen-touch Fine Point 1.0 mm pen, with quick-dry metallic ink that is permanent and opaque. It is extremely easy for anyone to get a good line with this pen, even a talentless clutz like me. I would recommend clear doing it before clear coating the frame though, to make sure solvent won't wash it off sometime later. I got this gold one next door at Seattle Art Supply but they don't have much of a selection of colors. So I found them online here: http://www.artstuff.net/sakura_pen_touch.htm

Now, if someone could tell me how to get a good line that is 1mm AWAY from the lug edge like my '62 Paramounts, I'd really like to know that!

cheers
