Seems to me we're beating this topic to death, but if the extractor is 22.0mm, that's the OD of the extractor threads (e.g. the ID of the thread valleys in the crank). This means a socket with a 21.8mm OD won't fit, at least not without the application of a large sledge hammer. ;-)

This doesn't mean a Snap-on socket (their tools tend to be a bit more elegant than their Craftsman equivalents) won't work. In fact a search of the Snap-on website reveals that their 3/8" drive, six point, 16mm shallow socket, Part Number FSM161, has an OD of 21.1mm. This just might work.

BTW, when posters to this list also CC: me on their email, I wind up with two copies, one of which I don't need. :-|
