Subject: [CR]Derailer cable routing

On the 1952 claud butler I'm working on the single cable for the rear derailer is routed under the BB.This could have been a later add-on but the cable stop on the rear chain stay, under the stay, was chromed as the stays. This makes me beleave the cable guided are original to this bike. Also there was a ware mark where the cable housing had crossed over the stay to the derailer.I have not seen this type on the 50s frames/bikes at any of the sites--did I miss one? Will this interfer with the opperation of the derailer,as the cable housing will have to cross the stay?
