After giving it a lot of thought, I'm offering this bike to the list. If it doesn't sell here, I may or may not sell it on ebay in the New Year.

It's one of the nicest bikes I own, but I have too many bikes, and it's time for a few of them to go. This particular bike, at 55cm c-t, is a bit small for me, and, to me anyway, it's so nice I can't bear to ride it..and I have too many bikes I can't bear to ride right now. Call it the museum-mentality. I won't defend it. But it's real enough for me.

So. For now, this bike is available to the list only.

For Sale: 1976 Masi Prestige. One of the earliest Prestiges any of us have seen. Paint and graphics are original. These early Prestiges are around, but not in large quantities. Built up from a NOS frame by list-member Wayne Bingham. I bought it from Wayne in a moment of madness at the Cirque last Spring. 55cm c-t. Full Campagnolo first-generation Super Record group, including the titanium/alloy bb and the titanium-spindle pedals. The entire bike is like new. And I mean, like new. There are two tiny paint-chips on one head-lug, and that seems to be it. Oh, a bit of scuffing on one of the seat-stay caps. The parts are in NOS condition throughout.

The bike has been ridden a few miles, but no more than that. I've taken it around the block a few times and it is a spirited and refined steed. As fine an example of a choice vintage lightweight as you'll find.

Here's the URL for some pics to whet the appetite. I have many more pics for anyone interested.

I hope the bike finds a good home here. If not, I'll gladly keep her.. Price is $2350 shipped in the lower 48.

Thanks.
