Jack

I owned a pair of Voyageurs 11.8. One was black, one chrome. They were fine bikes to ride. The chrome, however, wasn't nearly the quality as my '72 chrome Paramount. The chrome on the Paramount looks as if one could push a finger right into it...while the chrome on the Voyageur seemed to be just enough to cover...thin around the BB shell and other places. They are bikes that I let go and now wish they were back home with me for the holidays.

Were 1980 Schwinn Voyageurs 11.8 made by Panasonic (Matsushita?) or Bridgestone? I thought the earliest Japan-made Schwinns were Pana then in late-70's switched to Bridgestone...was there an overlap? Also. Schwinn Lightwt Data site was no help whether V 11.8 was available in chrome (apparently it was as I now have one)...thought only Super Le Tour 12.2 in chrome?
