The reality is that the parts taken off the '78 Gios in question were added by the original buyer of the frame. (Example: Do you think a 180mm crank with 53/45 chainrings is stock? And it came with a Nuovo Record rear derailleur?)

The parts aren't anything out of the ordinary and are on eBay week in and week out. And the eBay prices for late 1970s Campagnolo parts are way, WAY lower than their modern equivalents. And I'd be willing to wager that I could gather all the parts for the Gios in under two weeks, tops!

And the Gios being the equivalent of any, ANY of the KoF bikes built nowadays??? The Gios is not even in the same universe as any of today's lugged steel frame builders. Yes they have waiting lists; if they didn't, they wouldn't be special then would they?
