Ugo De Rosa got his first commercial license from the local commune in 1952. He then built his first bikes in 1953 (as told to me by Ugo and repeated by his sons). Decals similar to the ones used on the replica were used early on, in the 50's, but Ugo does not remember precisely when. If not in 1953, then perhaps in either 1954 or 1955. At the time, it was commonplace for shops to label both their own production, as well as brought in bikes with shop decals.
