The only real difference was in the top tube diameter and even that was only about 1.5mm. The fork blades on the Sachs were much more stout that the Witcomb's but so are all the old Italian forks in my possession. (I only have one old Italian bike but I have some extra forks - that's another story, though.) I gather the latest Richard Sachs frames use more seriously oversized tubing such as the stuff used by Waterford? Seriously - if that's the case, how do these bikes differ so greatly in spirit than the DeRosa in question? That is, other than DeRosa's chainstays, which clearly don't have the effect on me that the builder desires... Richard, you're a nice guy and a great frame builder but you've lost me on this one.
