Not exactly - the later design was a flush-mounted flat-head screw that came through from the rear, with a nut on the front. The screw is not a press-fit. 1978 was the transition year from first-generation to second-generation for the SR rear der., so 1979s would all be the late-style, and have the flat-head screws and Ti pivots. (Early second-gen. ones in 1978 had aluminum pivots, and the "old," bolt-from-the-front side-into-rear-pulley-cage-threads design...). Greg Parker Ann Arbor, Meechigan
