Subject: [CR]Ugo DeRosa History

The history time /line of Ugo DeRosa's rise has a small inaccuracy. I can say this basedon two other publications, one his history on his website and an interview he gave in the mid 90's to the Libreria Dello Sport.

" By 1958 the word of De Rosa's frames had reached the professional peleton. While attending a race at the Vigorelli velodrome in Milan De Rosa was approached by a famous cyclist of the day, Raphael Geminiani. He asked De Rosa to build him a bike for the upcoming Giro d'Italia. De Rosa responded immediately to Geminiani's request, for he knew that making this champion's bikes would certify his craftsmanship and launch him into the world of professional cycling." is the history in the current DeRosa chapter.

What actually seemed to happen was Geminiani came to race at the Milano Velodrome for the Gran Permio Liberazione with out a bicycle. When he couldn't find one that meet his needs, he was referred or found Ugo DeRosa's shop. DeRosa had a track bike available, although it had been promised or sold elsewhere. When DeRosa brought it to the track and Geminiani liked it, it was the begining of DeRosa's career. He was the mechanic with Geminiani from 1958 to 1961. In 1961 he moved to Faema with Rick Van Looy.
