Hi Tom,

I agree 100%. But I do not agree with your subject line.

You say "I think this shows just how serious and dedicated he is in this endeavor." True. But when was this ever said for the Japanese collectors who have the same passions for vintage stuff that we here in America do who?

If I remember correctly, the Market Highs on CR once read something like: "Have you seen and crazy, nose-bleed, high prices lately?"

I think it is only fair to other "big spenders" that this purchase, (#7117740206) BE INCLUDED IN THE 2004 CR MARKET HIGHS. It is nothing against the buyer (I do not know who bought it other than his first name is Bob,) but simply a reflection of how much passion this buyer (Bob) has for vintage bicycle collectibles and what he is willing to pay.

And I might add, these are NOT crazy prices. These prices are a direct reflection of the current market. Where else can you find an original Campagnolo catalog #11 these days? Sure there are photo-copied editions available. But the photocopying of the one I bought is so bad that I can hardly read the part numbers and some cannot be read at all.
