Speaking about all this Hyperglide stuff, it reminds me. Has anyone had a bad skipping problem with them and figured out how to fix it? I get a skip when I have more front-rear chain angle, when mashing down on the pedals. My local bike shop pro couldn't even fix it, so I gave up. I have a 7 speed rear freewheel and a Campy 1970s Nuevo Record crankset on the front. It won't skip when not moving and mashing down. It only does it when moving and under hard pressure, so its not the frewheel skipping internally. The frewheel and chain are brand new. It does not skip when using a differnet frewheel and chain combo. I have changed chains and it still does it. So it has to be the freewheel, I think. The only clue I have is that when I mash doen on it, I hear a slight derailler rattle just before it skips under heavy load. No change of derailler right-left centering with the rear shift lever will fix the problem, so that is not the problem. Maybe someone has had a similar and very bothersome skipping problem that they fixed and could share some tips for me to try. My local shop told me the oly thing to try next wold be changing the front Campy NR chainring, which is worn, but since I don't get skipping with any other freewheels and chains, I don't think that's the problem either.
