I not sure anyone is aware of this or not, but Simplex had a delrin version of their Super LJ rear derailleur in the late seventies that had the upper and lower pivot bodies made of delrin and the body links made of aluminum. I have one on my PY 10 CP (CP = Course Professionel) team bike and it still works great; has none of the problems the all Delrin™ original version from the sixties did.

You can see this version being used in the TdF by the Peugeot team with Simon and Phil Anderson etc. on their climbing bikes (Vitus 797 or Carbone) in the early 1980s. They were supplied with a special drilled pulley cage version and the front derailleur had a large cut out in the back of the derailleur clamp!
