That is the best test. If a French FW will not go on without undue force, and an English FW goes on snug without slop, then use the English. Don't think this will normally be the case with Zeus Metric hubs, though. I have a bunch of Zeus Metric hubs I recently bought from Baron and Cecile, maybe I should try them to see.
