When I ship goods from England using the normal UK Post Office, in my experience they are delivered by USPS. Maybe Pete sent the bike from his local Post Office. If so it all makes sense. Recently I sent a complete disassemlbled Gillott and some spares via Fedex on a Tuesday. Ir was delivered to Lafayette LA on Friday the same week in perfect order. On the other hand, I posted some old cycling mags via the Post office to California and they took three weeks, but had been opened and resealed. I suspect post 9/11 security too.
