They Key to using the Gluing tape is to FIRST put glue on the rim BEFORE you put the tape on. Otherwise when you go to remove the flat tire you will have the tape stuck to your tire and not the rim. If you glue the tape to the rim it will stay attached to the rim. The Tufo tape makes for a very strong bond between tape , tire and rim. As a matter of fact I have reused the same tape now for 3 different tires and I am amazed at the holding strength of the tufo tape, better than any glue I have ever used. I also Highly recommend the Tufo sealant. The Keys to using the sealant are, the leak must be a slow one and not sudden ie.. a small hole, 2 carry a tool to remove the value and a syringe to inject the sealant into the tube. Once the sealant is in the tube you can no longer let the air out of the valve because the sealant will clog the valve. Lastly I highly recommend Veloflex Criterium tubulars. They are the best Cotton tubulars made at 300 TPI, Wonderful ride..Like a Criterium seta extra and as durable as Victoria CX.
