Subject: [CR]French bb tap help

I am in need of retapping a French bottom bracket. At one point, I had French bottom bracket taps, and I believe I sold them to someone on the CR list, thinking, after two or three year stretch of never using them, that I would indeed never need them. Well, I do now. I have called virtually every bicycle shop in the Cleveland area seeking someone who still has French taps for the bottom bracket. Between laughs and queries of "are you sure that's what you need" and staight up "nopes," I have struck out in this area of finding a shop that can retap the threads.

I wonder if any out there have a set that they could lend me, rent me, send me, or that I could send the frame to, and have them retap the bottom bracket. I certainly would be willing to pay, trade, or whatever for services. In case of lending and sending, I have enlisted the help of Gary Chottiner, fellow eastside Cleveland person who knows far more about such stuff than I, so one need not worry about me damaging anything. That's especially meant for those who may have seen the insides of my garage and my tendency toward disarray.

Thank you as always.

Cheers.
