My '75 Motobecane catalog lists the tubing as 1020 "light steel" but in 1976 the Grand Touring had a Super Vitus 172 double butted main frame. I have a '78 Grand Touring and it does indeed have a sticker which states "Serie Legere Special Double Butted Vitus 172."
