We do bone densities in our department. I cannot think of any logical reason why bicyclists should have any problems with low bone mass. I'm a radiologist, not a physiologist so there might be reasons that I'm not aware of. Still, of all the patients we do that have low bone mass, women are far and away the majority and I cannot remember ever doing bone density on any 'healthy' athlete, or any active, reasonably healthy male. Men just don't have a problem with that as a rule. I certainly would NOT lose any sleep over this, folks! Look at it this way...it would only be a problem if you fall off!!!! (joke) Another benefit...you would be lighter if you had lkower bone mass!!! (another joke) Dave Van Hook Not worried about bone density in Hershey, PA
