I'm not sure those Super Champions are the original rims Peter. Most of the early 70s PX-10s came with Mavic Montlery rims. But your example also has plain Nervex lugs instead of the fancy Pros, so ??? Anyway, why don't you keep the wheels as-is for display, and swap out to a set of clinchers to ride? The later PX-10s had clincher rims, right? Either way, you should enjoy the ride of that bike.
