A properly built frame made from Reynolds 653 tubing actually takes a 27.4mm seat post. I keep several 27.4mm seat posts around because lots of my personal small lighter frames require them. I also have frames built with Columbus KL and Columbus Record tubing that require 27.4mm seat posts.
