Elizabeth picked out a new Lemond (insurance settlement) about 4 years ago. When we got it home, I spun the wheels and was surprised to feel some roughness in the RSX hubs. When I popped them open, surprise! No grease. Wouldn't take too long before those hubs oxidize and /or fail.

I repacked them and told the "high end" shop about it. I got the impression that they wouldn't dream of checking every Shimano hubset they sold.

Lousy QC on Shimano's part. Never assume anything.
