Assuming that we are talking about the ubiquitous -O-dometer, with two
mileage readouts -- one resettable trip mileage, the other total
mileage: preferably it should be replaced by the washer that came out when
the odometer was installed, which would have a tab on it to prevent it from
turning when working the bearing adjusting/lock nuts. Absent that washer I
suppose any washer of equal thickness would do.

I've sold them on eBay in the past so I'd say yes.
