if add-ons are also bilames, then we've been doing that here all along too! adding scrap to pre-existing lugs so that you could expand the "horizons of the canvass" is/was standard fare at weigle's, baylis', goodrich's, my place, and countless other shops. that italian firm - masi, i think it's called - routinely reworked their nervex ref 32 seatlugs to evoke a more sexist shape down the front of the seat tube. connoisseurs believe that holes drilled in the add-ons of said seat lugs indicate the frame was produced by that mario fellow! e-RICHIE chester, ct

The lug is brazed the extension or tang silver soldered. When Bill built our tandem he said do you want a bilam on the head because I think it will look bloody plain without it, finish it of nice will you.
