Jeremy Lieberman asks what sort of model was the " Frejus Strada"? This is what the 1950 catalagoue says. Designed by the Ghelfi brothers, famous Italian engineers, and produced under their supervision at the Frejus works, Turin. Strada the perfect frame for the rider who wants a good all-round machine, primarily for club work and touring. Plus the occasional race, at a very moderate price. Unique feature of the "Strada" model is the concealed cable design, both rear brake and gear cable run inside the frame tubes, giving a neat and tidy appearance. Concealed cable runs were nothing new back then but on suh a competively priced frame were a rarity. The Strada was less than £10.00 complete with Frejus chainset! Harry Rensch was concealing cables on his frames in the 1930's and Armstrong cycles produced top of the range models with this type of cable run in the 40's. But Rover cycles were doing this prior to World War I. It's all been done before.

Best wishes and be lucky. Michael Butler Huntingdon UK.
