Good point, Peter. How about then redefining the rule to include photos of parts that were so good that, after wearing them out and not finding others, you kept the old carcass for the memories? I can help you with a photo of a dead Criterium Seta or Campionato del Mundo.

My real point is, who needs a photo of another NOS whatever? I want to see parts that people have loved in use, not loved on a pedestal. Or, maybe there should just be a distinction between favorite "shelf part" and favorite "bike part." As in, favorite shelf front derailleur: Huret Jubilee. Whereas, favorite bike front mech: Campy Record with circlip and flat cage. Reasons? Jubille: innovative design, beautiful execution, known to break from the force of photons of light reflecting off your eyeballs while gazing at it. Campy Record: classic old-world design, rebuildable, cage withstands wear better than any other front mech.
