As a hulking 110 pounder at the time of stem failure, and my bud who may have been 130, neither of us what you could remotely call power riders, I'd say those DO count. In both cases the bolt prevented total separation, which at least kept our faces out of the wheel. But lack of directional control is more excitement than I would recommend to anybody at any age when it occurs in city traffic with moving cars/trucks on the left and a solid row of parked cars on the right.
