Hey, Recently while repacking the bike for overseas shipment, I had the opportunity to view the steerer tube of a Simplex equipped Bianchi with integrated headset, I think from the 1950s. This is one of the Bianchis that Kid Matteo B. sold recently, and it is going to Japan. If you have other questions about the bike, or wish to view it, perhaps Matteo will still have PICs and/or data ... however, it is GONE. On the mostly chromed steerer tube was a Roman numeral sequence of: XVIIII ... sort of an incorrect "19". The lines of the digits appeared to have been created by drawing the edge of a file back and forth. The info means nothing to me, but it probably would If I was into rare Bianchis, so I thought it best to submit it to the list. Manipulate the info as you will!
