Ok, what's up with the knees? some sort of early knee guards, or bandages?

Pic of the Day 13th June Special "Grace and Beauty of the Tour de France", part 2.

French rider Berton (Automoto).

I forget the year, and can't find the picture again.

The knee plasters, drooping "Automoto" jersey logo, and gilligan-esque cap add a certain élan to his wardrobe.

Berton is built a lot like Champion and the other "Triplettes" cyclists, isn't he?
