longer head tubes are needed to compensate for minaturized headsets - the norm - that replaced the stack heights we all knew as standard back "in the day". extending the lug is the antidote for either making the seat tube higher or using a slanted up top tube - assuming you want to use modern parts. it's either extend the lug, use no lug, or use washers (yuck). the NEWVEX lugs are less extended than the RICHIE-ISSIMO lugs. oh - the t shirts are in stock too. e-RICHIE chester, ct
