Pic of the Day 4th August Crashed Demi-Fond Bursts Into Flames
Still on the subject of motor-paced racing...
Le Grand Prix de L'U.V.F au Vélodrome Buffalo, 1923. A blow-out, a crash, a
ruptured fuel tank, and Demenou's demi-fond bursts into flames. The man in
the hat pulls the burning moto away from the wooden track, wooden canopy,
and wooden grandstands, while the driver (right) appears to be using an
old-fashioned fire extinguisher, what little good that might do him!
