It is my understanding that the way Poglihghi tandems were made is a bit unusual...
They would build up a complete frame out of oversized, heavy tubing, with welded joints.
Then they would cut the joints out of this frame and use them as lugs to make the real frame out of lightweight tubing. This was a way to get the special non-standard lugs for a tandem frame.
